Free Internet Faxing
In days gone by and in fact even up until fairly recently sending a fax to someone was a fairly involved process. Before the popularity of
free Internet faxing you had to print out or write out some form of cover sheet, if the item was a computer document then you had to print that out.
If you were one of the lucky ones with a fax machine in your home or office you could walk over to
the machine and feed in the papers, punch in the numbers and hit send. If you were not so lucky then you had to take the information for your fax and go out to your car and drive across town to the local office supply or print store and have them fax the documents for you at an elevated per page rate. You wasted a lot of time and money on that fax.
Today
free Internet faxing is as common as doing a Google search to find information. You can send emails in and they get converted into a fax and send to the recipients
fax machine. That includes the attached files like photos and document or excels files that you had attached to the original email. And yes, this can be done for free in many instances.
Free Internet faxing also works in the reverse. In other words someone can actually send you a fax and you can have it converted over and sent to you as an email in the event that you do not have a dedicated fax number for them to use.
This feature is more often than not included in the
free trial portion of the service and if you keep the service you will pay extra for that since you actually need an official telephone number for the fax machine to send the data to be converted.
The popularity of free Internet faxing has been growing by leaps and bounds because most folks only use a fax on an occasional basis and they find it hard to justify the cost of owning a
dedicated stand-alone fax machine along with possibly the cost of a dedicated fax line and number and the amount of space that even a small unit can take up on your home office desk.
Free Internet faxing fills the void nicely and as long as you only have an occasional need
to send or receive a fax, it can be a lifesaving solution to that need. However if you are finding that you fax fairly regularly, it might be worth looking into either a paid service or a software program that will allow you to do it right off the main computer in your office or home office setup.
